2018 Mercedes-Benz:
E-Class Coupe
For the third year in a row, Mercedes- Benz and Discovery partnered with IFDC to promote the release of the 2018 E-Class Coupe. Highlighting several of their new state of the art features, this piece exceeded client and agency expectations while staying within the lines of their current brand voice and style. While we were provided some driving footage, we pitched back some very stylized 3D concepts to give us far more freedom to give the piece some style, attitude and deliver their message.
The new 2018 Mercedes-Benz E-Class is simultaneously aggressive and cutting edge yet clean and elegant. Our goal was to visually mirror these traits in a dark and mysterious environment while using neon lighting elements to really enhance the striking lines of this beautiful sedan.


Starting in Cinema 4d, we used the Mercedes-Benz approved 3D model and came up with a final lockup we felt was desirable. From there, we added textures and shaders, then rendered a beauty and specular pass to bring in for compositing. Then we begin the compositing process. Combining the beauty and specular passes, we applied a base color grade to the image. From there we incorporated some background atmospheric elements, and in our final frame we've added some additional lighting elements and applied a finessed overall grade.

Here we deployed the use of HUD style overlays to enhance the visuals, further explaining the technological advancements that the E-Class offers.
